Dear Parents, We had a lot of fun this week! We worked hard but also had a lot of laughs every day. The students are doing well to attend school online. Hopefully we have just one more week! In English, we finished writing our newspaper story. We reviewed the importance of including a lot of details to help the reader imagine our story. We also practiced identifying a fact and opinion. We learned spelling words with the prefix "il" or "ir". In Maths, we reviewed our two times tables. We also learned how to read and follow directions using map coordinates. We played games and enjoyed Seesaw activities to practice this. In UOI, we gave presentations of our circulatory system research, brainstormed ideas for being healthy, shared our understanding after listening to the story The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body , and carried out an experiment to see if exercise affected our pulse. Dear Parents, We had another busy week of online learning! We were very excited to be joined by a mystery guest-Mr. Derek joined us from America and read a story for us! In Maths, we did some activities to work on our understanding of Perimeter. We measured the perimeter of our rooms, made a lego model and measured the perimeter of that, and found the perimter of the letters of our names. In English, we learned the meaning and spellings of words beginning with "im". We also made up silly news events, and worked on creating a newspaper report. We practiced using our imagination, and including details to make our writing more interesting. We researched into the circulatory system for our unit of inquiry. We found interesting facts about the heart, and made posters to show our learning. We started talking about how to stay healthy, and shared our knowledge with our friends. Have a great weekend!
