Dear Parents, We were very sad to say goodbye to Rio this week. We wish Rio and his family all the best in Shanghai and hope to meet them again! UOI: We were very interested in finding facts about Greek mythology and gods, so we split into teams to research about a god, create a poster, and teach the rest of the class about our god. It was a lot of fun finding out about the different gods. We also had Angelique from sixth grade come and teach us about the gods! English: We continued to work on our personal narrative writing skills. We wrote a basic outline of our stories. We learned that an author's purpose is to persuade, inform, or entertain the reader. We noticed that we improved after some practice! We worked on reading comprehension, and also focused on reading at our own level to improve. I strongly encourage all students to read the "level up" books on Raz Kids every day, and answering the quiz questions carefully. By focusing on reading at their own level, students can improve their reading skills. Maths: We reviewed a mixture of different questions, and practiced reading the questions carefully. We reviewed some addition strategies, and worked on the split addition strategy and written addition. We also practiced challenging word problems, and played some fun Maths games. Unit of Inquiry: We were very excited to begin our new unit, where we are in place and time ! Our new central idea is Ancient civilisations impact our lives . We beg
