Dear Parents, This week we really improved with remembering our homework and also remembering to hand it in! Thank you for your support. In Maths we practiced our 9 times tables. This was a little tricky, so we shared a few fun tricks to help remember. We also looked at a clock and learned about telling the time. We saw how we can use fractions to help with this. In English we used Follow That Clue to practice answering comprehension question and we also looked at cause and effect relationships. We learned spelling words that end in "cian". In UOI we presented our posters about our melting the ice challenge. We began planning out our summative assessments on this unit. We are having fun brainstorming and researching ideas! In Art we used washi tape to create lines and angles, and painted over it using water colour paint to make a cool effect. Have a great weekend, Ms. Stacy.

We finished deciding on our Essential Agreement-the important rules that we should follow, as created by the students. Maths: We practiced our 3 times tables. We found parallel and perpendicular lines, and learned what an angle is. We also worked in teams and used our maths skills to problem solve in a very fun game involving naughty gnomes! English: We continued learning sion spelling words. We answered comprehension questions about our shared reading books, first by speaking with and listening to our friends, and then by writing our answers. We also read an informal letter, and used clues to make inferences. UOI: We explored the properties of states of matter. We made some observations of solids, liquids, and gases, and learned about how the particles behave in each state. We also had fun making a structure using ice, and used our measurement skills to record the changing height. We
