Term 2 Week 8
Dear Parents,
Please carefully read the emails about ICF. I sent home the tickets today. Please remember them tomorrow!
Thank you also to everyone who donated to our food drive this week! It was great to see the children being charitable and helping those less fortunate than us. If you still have more to donate, please bring to the 10th floor tomorrow.
English:
We used our skim-reading skills to find interesting facts about ancient and modern Greece. We then sorted through the information we had gathered and used dictionaries and group discussions to understand the meaning of the texts. We chose our favourite facts and displayed them for ICF.
Maths:
We compared different ways of displaying fractions and began to understand equivalent fractions. We practiced changing a fraction into another fraction of the same value. We also reviewed some multiplication and division.
Unit of Inquiry:
We looked at some vocabulary words connected to our unit. We brainstormed what these words meant, and found the meaning for those we didn't know. We watched a video about biomes for homework, and used books and a world map to find out more about the biomes of the world. We did an ecosystem scavenger hunt at the park.
See you tomorrow!
Ms. Stacy.
