Term 3 Week 3
Dear Parents, We had our big IB-PYP inspection at the start of the week. I was happy to see that Grade 3 students were polite and friendly to our two visitors, and were excellent at communicating what we are doing in school. I was very proud of our class! :) English: We finished reading "Brad Needs a Budget" for shared reading . We made a lot of connections to our unit and our prior knowledge . We noticed the sound that " dg " makes and thought of similar words. We enjoyed reading discussion cards and talking in groups about the book. We used vocabulary words like "budget, allowance, spending, savings" to write a response journal entry . We looked at some simple sentences and found that every sentence needs a subject . Maths: This week allowed for a lot of transdisciplinary learning. We practiced adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing money . This helped us to decide how much we should sell our products for.
