Field Trip to Kids Plaza


We had a great day in Kids Plaza with our Grade 5 friends!


It was very cool to get some hands-on experience to help us with our Unit of Inquiry about body systems.






 We took notes so that we can remember what we discovered.


We enjoyed a relaxing lunch and chatting about our day so far!


 We had fun exploring the instruments and costumes of other cultures.



We experimented with a lot of science and technology.


The students were very well behaved and principled on the field trip. We had a wonderful day and we didn't want it to end!

Key concepts:  function, change, responsibility Related concepts:  matter, transformation, energy, development Learner profile:  knowledgeable, inquirers, thinkers We began the unit by looking at the different states of matter, making a poster to categorise objects into: solid, liquid or gas. Students then researched and worked on experiments to show transformation of matter. The experiments helped them to further their understanding of states of matter, and the conditions necessary to cause changes to these states. Dear Parents, Welcome to Grade 3! I hope the students are well rested and ready for another busy year! My name is Stacy O'Sullivan. I am from Ireland. I have been teaching for 8 years (2 1/2 years at AIS). My hobbies include playing futsal, photography, superhero movies, watching rugby, and playing ukulele. Before moving to Osaka 2 1/2 years ago, I was teaching in Thailand for 3 years. I have also lived in Australia and England. I really love travelling and have been to many countries. I am very passionate about IB. It has been wonderful to see from the beginning how IB has been implemented in our school, and how we go from strength to strength each year.
