Term 1 Week 8
Dear Parents,
We finished our first unit of inquiry, who we are, by presenting our body system board games. The students created really cool games and we had a lot of fun!
Bodyland
Adventure of the Body Parts
No Name Game
The Good Infection
The Marble Game
We enjoyed learning by playing each other's games!
Our complete inquiry wheel for who we are!
We started to learn about chance by finding out the meaning of four terms-impossible, unlikely, likely, and certain. We wrote sentences and organised them according to how much of a chance there was of the situation happening. We also looked at how changing the conditions affects the chance of something happening, for example: if you add more red markers to a basket, you will have a higher chance of selecting a red marker.
We played a game to learn about compound words-take a word and try to find your partner! We also practiced answering comprehension questions, analysing characters by making mindmaps and writing with evidence to support our opinions.
We used dictionaries to help us to understand the vocabulary in our new central idea.
We began tuning in to our new unit, how the world works. We started by brainstorming everything we know about energy.
We had fun exploring with some science to understand the three states of matter-solids, liquids, and gases.
-Due to the park closing because of the rain, the school trip to Rokkoyama is cancelled.
-Next week is Parents' Morning-see you Wednesday!
Have a good weekend,
Ms. Stacy.
