Term 2 Week 3 ICF

Dear Parents,

The students worked very hard to prepare for International Children's Festival. As you know, our inquiry into the Ancient Incas gave us a good opportunity to do Peru for our country. The Grade 3 students were so creative! They made a lot of cool things based on the research they did for their inquiry. I was so proud of all of their motivation and hard work! I hope you all enjoyed ICF!

Term 2 Week 9

Dear Parents, Thank you to everyone who came to ICF last week! I hope you enjoyed it! Grade 3 collected more food for the food drive per student than any other class in the school! Fantastic! A reminder that we have Parents' Day coming up next week. Please check the email from the office for more details. English: We practiced reading newspaper articles , with a focus on layout and language used. We created our own drafts of a newspaper article, and worked on turning an idea into a finished product. We read articles from the news about the environment, discussed the intention/ message of the article and brainstormed ideas for our unit. We also practiced adding 's' or 'es' to make a noun plural. Maths: We brainstormed ideas for what a map should like like, what information it should contain, and why we need maps.
