Term 2 Week 6 Sports Day

Dear Parents,

Thank you to everyone for attending Sports Day! It was so much fun! It was great to see the students showing off their karate, poetry, sports skills, and sportsmanship! I hope you all enjoyed the event as much as I did!

Dear Parents, Great news! A new boy, Seitaro, will join our class from next Friday! This week we started our new unit: sharing the planet: our actions affect life on Earth! We tuned into the unit by sharing what we think the central idea means-there were a lot of excellent ideas! We then looked up the meaning of a biome in the dictionary and made a list of biomes. We chose a biome that sounded interesting, and researched living factors, non-living factors, and the location of the biome. In Maths, we distributed our surveys to different grades, collected the data, and represented it in a bar graph. It was fun! In PSPE, we played team building games in the gym!  In English, we focused on finding the main details of a chapter and using evidence to support our reasoning. We began reading The Halloween House.
