Term 2 Week 12

Dear Parents,

We had a lovely day on our field trip to the recycling centre! We saw a lot of cool materials that are being fixed and reused. We had a lot of fun making paper out of old milk cartons! We enjoyed a relaxing picnic under the Autumn leaves in Expo Park.

We also had a visitor who told us all about his work designing a solar powered car that raced across Australia! We had fun comparing 1 centimetre squared to 1 metre squared!

A reminder to wear a science costume on Friday.

Unit 2 - How the World Works

Central Idea:  Understanding the way matter behaves can help us to use it for our benefit.  Lines of Inquiry: Function:  Transformation of matter from one state to another Change:  How energy is transferred through matter Responsibility:  How we use our knowledge of energy and matter. Students then researched and worked on experiments to show transformation of matter.
