Term 2 Week 9

Dear Parents,

We had a great day on our field trip to Osaka Museum of History and Osaka Castle! We found a lot of interesting information about Ancient Japan!


It was fun to ride the subway together. I was impressed with Grade 3 students-they were safe and polite!



We found our first connection to ancient civilisations-a really old building!





There were a lot of ancient artifacts to explore!






We enjoyed some interactive puzzles and games.











We learned about eras of the past and compared them to nowadays.


Playing traditional games was fun.


After all of our note taking and learning, it was time to relax with a picnic in the park.


We went to Osaka Castle.


The view from the top was beautiful!

We found more connections to old times.

Finally, after a busy day, we enjoyed some snacks on the steps!

We welcomed Seitaro to our class! We enjoyed a popcorn and movie party as a reward for filling our jar with jewels. The students got jewels for good behaviour. It was a great feeling to enjoy a reward for doing such a great job!

Week 8

Dear Parents, Great news! A new boy, Seitaro, will join our class from next Friday! This week we started our new unit: sharing the planet: our actions affect life on Earth! We tuned into the unit by sharing what we think the central idea means-there were a lot of excellent ideas! We then looked up the meaning of a biome in the dictionary and made a list of biomes. We chose a biome that sounded interesting, and researched living factors, non-living factors, and the location of the biome. In Maths, we distributed our surveys to different grades, collected the data, and represented it in a bar graph. It was fun! In PSPE, we played team building games in the gym!  In English, we focused on finding the main details of a chapter and using evidence to support our reasoning. We began reading The Halloween House.
