Dear Parents, In English, we practiced note-taking, worked on recognising and fixing incorrect sentences, identified the main events in a story, and used these to help us sequence events, and summarise a story. We looked at and gathered information from charts, and created our own charts to clearly display information. We also took a Raz Kids reading assessment, to make sure that we are reading at the correct level. This prompted some discussion on the importance of reading every day to help improve our reading skills and English fluency. In Maths, we looked at some 3D shapes and realised the importance of the depth or height of a shape. We discovered that the volume of a shape is how much space it takes up, measured in cubic centimeters (cm ³ ). We made shapes using blocks and counted how many blocks there were.
