Term 3 Week 5

Dear Parents,

We had a lot of fun this week-we even walked in the snow! We enjoyed free dress as a reward for good behavior. We also elected our class representative for the next academic year. Congratulations to Noah!

In English, we focused on the structure of a piece of writing. We practiced building towards a good piece of writing by using a graphic organiser, and editing our work. We also had a special lesson from Grade 8 to teach us about inferences. This helped us to find clues in a piece of writing. It was a lot of fun.

In Maths, we worked on equivalent fractions. We also saw how decimals and fractions are connected, and practiced converting between the two. We worked on word problems. We also revised addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division strategies, as well as practicing using a calculator to check our answers.

In UOI, we made a plan for our summative assessments, worked on YEP, and learned how to shade colours.

Important:
-Tuesday, February 11th, is a National Holiday-no school
-Friday, February 14th, is Student Led Conference day. Please come to school with your child for your assigned time.

Have a great weekend!
Ms. Stacy.
